Lambrusco refers to a collection of grape varieties as well as the style of wine named after them - fruity, light-hearted sparkling reds made in central-northern Italy. The grapes are usually brightly coloured and very fragrant when allowed to reach peak ripeness, and include Grasparossa, Sorbara, and Maestri (though there are over 10 recognised Lambrusco grapes).
