Hurry… almost sold out!

Nimbus Albus 2022 is a natural wine crafted by Kamara Pure, in the Macedonia region in Greece. This DELICIOUS, refreshing, slightly salty and certainly Greek tasting white wine is made with 50% Malagouzia and 50% Assyrtiko grapes. No added sulphites.

Expect salty, mineralic touches alongside a slightly floral nose from the Malagouzia grape (which is similar to Muscat). This wine is super fresh and creamy too, with an almost perfumed finish but again, with that salty kick! Truly does makes you think of being on a Greek holiday by the sea for sure - we adore it!

Appellation: PGI Thessaloniki Region: Slopes of Kamara-Oraiokastro Thessaloniki

Kamara Pure Tasting notes: Bright golden colour with greenish highlights recalls the colour of a fino sherry. Rich, intense nose, with all natural flavours evolving in mouth. A robust botanical sense combined with stone fruits, leaving in the finish earthy expression with hints of frankincense, lavender and chamomile. The fine alcoholic expression is perfectly harmonious with the low acidity in the palate.

History of this label: The label is a painting of our lakes during a cloudy day, as Nimbus means cloud and Albus white. The Nimbus series are natural non filtered wines, giving their hazy hue and an uplifting but soft and round feeling, kind of what drinking a cloud would taste like.

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.

NATURAL WINES BY KAMARA PURE

Kamara Pure is the natural range of the Kioutsoukis family, farming 11 hectares on the Mygdonia slopes 30 km from Thessaloniki. The family came from Eastern Rumelia on the Black Sea in the early 1900s, and Dimitrios Kioutsoukis founded the winery in 2010. The vines sit at around 140 metres on an old seabed of clay, sand and schist, mostly Xinomavro, Assyrtiko and Malagousia.

Vines are hoed and picked by hand and treated with nettle and yarrow. Wines ferment with wild yeasts and age in old barriques or clay amphorae, and the Pure range gets no added sulphur. Start with Nimbus Albus, Assyrtiko and Malagousia, or Shadow Play White. Their Retsina uses a little Aleppo pine resin from Evia, and Keramos Amphora Red blends Xinomavro and Limnio.
