Silicium 2023

Silicium 2023 is a natural wine crafted by Schnabel, in the Styria region in Austria. This orange wine is made with Chardonnay and Riesling grapes, the latter of which is not so commonly found in Styria!

Production details of Silicium: Silicium is made by Karl and Eva Schnabel in South Styria (Südsteiermark), Austria. The wine is a mash-fermented blend of Chardonnay and Rhine Riesling from their Hochegg vineyard, where the soil is a mix of coarse siliceous rock, slate and iron. Since 2007 every Schnabel wine has been free of added sulphur. Cellar work is by hand and all wines develop in oak barrels.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Silicium by Schnabel, but we hear it has notes of orange zest, apricot, honey, watermelon and a deep complex finish.
