Derthona 2022

Derthona 2022 by Ricci is a natural wine made in Piedmont with Timorasso grapes.

This rich, white wine ages for 12 months in used, 700 litre acacia wood barrels.

Flavourwise it is creamy, full bodied and with low acidity, featuring a lovely minty note, alongside subtle flavours of melon and vanilla.

Production Details: Derthona is a wine from the Piedmont region made from Barbera. The grapes are fermented with natural yeasts for approximately 30 days on the skins. Ageing takes place in large wooden barrels, allowing the wine to develop complexity whilst retaining the freshness and fruit character characteristic of high-quality Barbera.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried the 2022 vintage of Derthona by Ricci, but we hear it has notes of dark cherry, plum, black pepper, spice, and soft tannin structure.
