Barbera d’Asti superiore ”La Tranquilla” 2019

Barbera d’Asti superiore ”La Tranquilla” 2019 by Carusin is a natural wine made in Piedmont with Barbera grapes.

Production details of La Tranquilla: La Tranquilla is a single-vineyard Barbera d'Asti Superiore from Carussin, sourced from old vines planted in 1978 in calcareous soil at San Marzano Oliveto. The vineyard is Guyot-trained and farmed using a lunar-calendar approach without synthetic chemistry. The grapes are hand-selected, lightly pressed, then ferment under controlled temperature with long maceration on the skins. The wine ages in large wooden barrels.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of La Tranquilla by Carussin, but we hear it has notes of vanilla, sour cherry, plum, raspberry and dark fruit.
