La Pépée Pinot Noir 2023 is a natural wine crafted by Les Bottes Rouges, in the Jura region in France. This red wine is made with Pinot Noir grapes which see 3 weeks maceration in Inox tanks to preserve freshness.

Light and with a slight rustic charm we adore. Really good!

Production details of La Pépée Pinot Noir: La Pépée comes from Les Bottes Rouges, the project of Jean-Baptiste Menigoz and Florien Kleine Snuverink in Arbois, Jura. The Pinot Noir is sourced from two low-yielding vineyards near La Mulatière and Les Bodines, with vines planted in 1978 and 1990 on clay and marl. The grapes are destemmed and macerate for 10 days without extraction, then half is pressed into 600L barriques while the rest ages in stainless steel.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of La Pépée Pinot Noir by Les Bottes Rouges, but we hear it has notes of floral lavender, berry fruit compote, light spice and a perfumed lift.

NATURAL WINES BY LES BOTTES ROUGE

Les Bottes Rouges is the creative winemaking project of Jean-Baptiste Menigoz and Florien Kleine Snuverink, based in the Arbois region of Jura, France. Their wines are bold, energetic, and sometimes a little wild—packed with amazing energy and plenty of personality.
Jean-Baptiste started out as a special needs teacher, making wine on the side. But after an apprenticeship with Jura legend Stephan Tissot and the chance to buy some land, he took the leap into natural winemaking full-time. Now, he and Florien farm 7 hectares, crafting standout wines like Léon, No Milk Today, Tôt ou Tard, and La Pepée.
