Kaamen I 2021 is a natural wine crafted by Vinas Mora, in the Dalmatia region in Croatia. This red wine is made with Babić grapes which are taken from vineyards of different locations from Primosten hills up to 300m attitude, with vines up to 50 years old.
All grapes come from bush vineyards. It means no mechanisation, spraying once a year, work only by hand.
Kaamen is the Primosten Babic ‘village’ wine. And this one is lighter than Kaamen 2 and Kaamen 3, being 11% alcohol.
Fermentation in open 1000L casks without control, 4days of contact on skins, very low sulphur added before bottling.
Tasting the 2022 Kaamen 1, expect a savoury, earthy touch with a sensual mouthfeel which is rich yet light. Notes of sour cherries, dried leaves, chocolate and beetroot hum in harmony.
