Alanna had the idea to make the best of it's fruity characteristic by turning it into a redpet nat. They farm with a lunar-calendar approach and use bat dung from a nearby colony to fertilise the soil (which is why bats appear on many of their labels). The excessive water caused some grape clusters to burst, necessitating a quick start to harvest. We harvested many vineyards in three passes to remove any burst berries before rot sets in. This allowed us to give the remaining grapes even more time to ripen to perfection. As a result, we have very exciting wines in the cellar that offer everything from acidity and freshness to full-ripe complexity.
