That’s not very many considering how popular Gut Oggau are globally!\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe story of the wine is more intriguing however… and we have had the pleasure to visit the plot too. \u003cstrong\u003eIt’s a 0.5 hectare site where the vines have been left pretty much totally untamed with super minimal pruning, and thus left to grow almost as they would in the wild. (see the photo)\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e \u003c\/strong\u003eSome have attached themselves to trees, the grass which surrounds the vines is long and wails with the wind. With no pesticides since 1970, the vines are mixed, so this is a field blend of mostly white varietals, and has been left to ferment on the skins for two weeks, which gives a surprising amount of grip for an Austrian orange.
