Ex Vero I is taken from the lower slopes, Ex Vero II from the middle vineyards and Ex Vero III from the uppermost, featuring rougher and more rocky Opok soils.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe \u003cstrong\u003eEx Vero II\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003egrapes grow more than 300m above the sea level on Opok soil, a fine-grained, calcareous marl and silt typically found in the steep Styrian vineyards. The result of the selected grapes from the soil on the steeper and more barren middle slopes is a classy wine with an aromatic and mineral touch!\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWhilst we haven't tried the 2020 vintage of\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eEx Vero II\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e yet, we hear it presents the same proportion of Sauvignon Blanc and Morillon in the blend, where \u003cstrong\u003emint \u003c\/strong\u003eand \u003cstrong\u003elime \u003c\/strong\u003earomas find space next to the \u003cstrong\u003eexotic \u003c\/strong\u003eand \u003cstrong\u003esmoky \u003c\/strong\u003eSauvignon. \u003cstrong\u003eRipe fruit\u003c\/strong\u003e and \u003cstrong\u003etannin grip\u003c\/strong\u003e are balanced by a \u003cstrong\u003elively acidity\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBrigitte and Ewald Tscheppe from Werlitsch, together with Styrian wine producers Taus, Tscheppe, Muster and Strohmeier, belong to the\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e‘Schmecke das Leben’\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e(‘Taste life’) group. \u003cbr\u003eTheir philosophy is about protecting the land, and making authentic and expressive natural wines that stay honest to their roots.
