A word that gets quite a few eyes rolling, but some wines are still best described with the dreaded f-word. So in honour of that, we are officially taking you to Funkytown with these three wines that all have very unique characteristics.
So, what's in your Funkytown Wine Box:
Noita - Hexbag
Noita is an innovative urban winery located in Finland. Their natural wines use organic grapes from Austria, which they ship to Finland on the very same day as harvesting in special tanks, which are then pressed straightaway on arrival in Finland.
Country: Finland (Grapes from Austria) - Grapes: Pinot Gris, Grüner Veltliner - Alcohol: 12%
Cantina Giardino - Paski 2019
This Italian wine has interesting notes of gherkin & bubblegum, alongside some VA and sandy tannins.
Country: Italy - Grapes: Coda di Volpe - Alcohol: 11.5%
Joe Swick - Pet Natch
This one is rather unique in its flavour profile, with a slight plasticine edge to it, alongside raspberries and cherries. Rather different and kinda funky in its profile.
Country: USA - Grapes: Graciano, Cinsault, Pinot Gris - Alcohol: 11,5%
