We have not yet tried this vintage, but from what we know, this vintage of Heppi Peppi 2022 is a light, chillable red from Burgenland made from Zweigelt, crafted in a distinctly funky, wild style by Projekt Wildtyp. It offers a wonderfully juicy profile with lively, almost sparkling energy on the palate, supported by very high freshness.

The nose is characterized by bright, juicy fruit aromas with a slightly wild, earthy edge, while the taste reveals vibrant red berry flavors balanced by a crisp, invigorating acidity, making it both playful and refreshing.

Production Process of Heppi Peppi 2022 by Projekt Wildtyp

Heppi Peppi 2022 from Projekt Wildtyp is a natural wine made with 100% Rotburger (Zweigelt) grapes. The wine is fermented and aged in a combination of used untoasted Stockinger oak barrels and stainless steel tanks, with a 50/50 split between the two types of vessels.

The grapes undergo a 10-day maceration on the skins, with about 25% of the fruit subjected to carbonic or whole-bunch maceration.
