The Coutale Sommelier Innovation Corkscrew is the kind of wine opener you buy because you are tired of replacing cheap ones.

Designed for professional use, the Innovation combines a solid stainless-steel frame, coated spiral and patented double-lever mechanism to make opening bottles noticeably easier, smoother and more controlled. It feels substantial in the hand without being unnecessarily bulky, and every part of the design has a practical purpose.

The key difference is Coutale's double-lever extraction system. Rather than relying on one fixed point of leverage, the two-stage mechanism helps lift the cork progressively from the bottle. This reduces the amount of force needed and gives you more control, particularly with long, tight or stubborn corks.

The coated worm also enters the cork with less friction than a basic uncoated spiral, helping it screw in cleanly rather than dragging or tearing at the cork.

Another clever detail is the automatic foil-knife closure. Once the foil has been cut and the lever is raised, the blade folds away automatically, making the whole opening process quicker and neater.
