Three grapes, one glass, zero sulphites. Calek's "Blonde" — named for its pale golden colour — blends 40% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Viognier and 20% Chardonnay from his estate in Alba-la-Romaine, Ardèche. It's the most immediately inviting white in the range.

What is Andrea Calek's Blonde?

Andrea Calek has farmed his 5-hectare Ardèche estate completely chemical-free since 2007, trained under the region's natural wine pioneer Gérald Oustric. The Blonde is direct-pressed — whole bunches into the press, juice straight to tank — which preserves freshness and keeps the aromatic complexity of three very different grape varieties intact. Sauvignon Blanc brings the tension; Viognier brings the generous fruit; Chardonnay holds it all together with quiet structure.

Softly creamy on entry, mildly floral, gently rounded. The acidity is calm rather than cutting — this is a wine that settles rather than jolts. There's a lovely subtle herbaceous note running through it, almost minty, in the best possible way. Light-bodied, aromatic, and very easy to keep pouring.

Perfect for a long summer afternoon. Would work brilliantly with oysters, grilled vegetables, or anything you'd eat sitting outside. FINISH IN ONE SITTING as will not last overnight.
