Lemberger Keuper 2022 is a natural wine crafted by Sven Enderle, who is based in the Baden region in Germany but also sources some grapes from the Mosel.
Sven Enderle used to be one half of Enderle and Moll, before they decided to part ways. This red wine is made with Blaufränkisch grapes, aka Lemberger in Germany but called Blaufränkisch in Austria.
Production details of Lemberger Keuper: Lemberger Keuper is made by Sven Enderle, formerly one half of Enderle & Moll. Sven is based in Baden but also sources grapes from the Mosel. This Lemberger (the German word for Blaufränkisch) comes from Keuper soils, marl-and-limestone ground found near Heilbronn that gives wines a spicy herbal freshness. 100% whole-cluster ferment in 800-litre boxes mashed by foot, then 15 months in oak. Bottled with minimal sulphur at bottling.
Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Lemberger Keuper by Sven Enderle, but we hear it has notes of dark blue fruit, fresh spice, dried herbs and a silky textured lift.
