Slava Ukraini 2022

Slava Ukraini 2022 is a 12.5% natural wine crafted by Wine Artisans, in the Shida Kartli region in Georgia. 

From Wine Artisans: This unique orange wine was made according to a one-off recipe, as a sign of its author's respect for the heroic struggle of the brave Ukrainians against our common enemy.

An expressive amber wine with layered aromatics of dried apricot, orange peel and orchard fruit, supported by subtle herbal and spicy nuances. The palate is textured and structured, with gentle tannins from the extended skin contact balanced by vibrant acidity. The long finish shows hints of tea, dried citrus and a delicate touch of oak.

Created as a tribute to the resilience and courage of the Ukrainian people, this special cuvée blends three white varieties grown on the southern slopes of the Caucasus: 40% Chinuri, 45% Goruli Mtsvane and 15% Pinot Blanc. The grapes are fermented on 100% of the skins with wild yeasts, without added sulfites and bottled unfiltered.

It assembles Chinuri, Goruli Mtsvane, and Pinot Blanc grapes. Chinuri and Pinot Blanc fermented together while Goruli Mtsvane was pre-macerated according to a special technique, and joined the other two in the final stage of fermentation. The wine spent 7 months in kvevri and was taken to a stainless steel tank for the next 15 months. Then it spent 5 more months in French oak barrels and back to the stainless tank for a month, before bottling.
