Domaine Bariou Bodet
Jennifer Bariou and Thibaut Bodet founded their domaine in 2015 in Azay-le-Rideau, in the central Loire Valley. After gaining experience in wineries in different parts of the world, they settled in the region with around two and a half hectares. The estate has since expanded to roughly eight hectares spread between Cheillé, Lignières-de-Touraine and Azay-le-Rideau.
In Cheillé, Chenin Blanc, Grolleau and Côt grow mainly on clay with flint. Around Lignières-de-Touraine, Grolleau occupies lighter, sandier ground, while other parcels include quartz and stony clay. Some vines are around thirty years old, while others reach approximately ninety. The domaine is not limited to vines. Livestock and other agricultural activity are part of the wider farm, including a flock of Solognote sheep that grazes between the rows and helps manage vegetation.
