Knockentrocken means Bone Dry, and this wine from Der Glücksjäger in the Pfalz region of Germany is made with Weissburgunder and Grauburgunder, aka Pinot Gris.
Expect a more classic edge, with a crisp, clean finish. This is a wine for those looking for a more conventional style mouthfeel, yet still made with low intervention.
Production details of KnochenTrocken: KnochenTrocken (meaning "Bone Dry" in German) is made by Andreas and Cathrin Pfaffmann-Wiedemann at Der Glücksjäger in the Pfalz region of Germany. The blend uses Weissburgunder and Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris). The estate works 30 hectares using a lunar-calendar approach, with sulphur kept at 30-40 mg/l. The Dalmatian on the label is their dog Anouk.
Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of KnochenTrocken by Der Glücksjäger, but we hear it has notes of green apple, dry pear, gentle stone fruit and a classic bone-dry German lift.
