Hurry… almost sold out!

Enderle & Moll were a duo based in Baden, Germany. One of the two has since parted ways but the domain remains. They are respected for their Pinot Noirs, at both budget and more premium pricepoints.

The Weiss & Grau 2023 wine from Enderle and Moll is called as such, as it is made from Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) and Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris).

Production details of Weiss & Grau: Weiss & Grau is from Enderle & Moll, a small natural wine project in Baden, Germany. The pair started together as friends in a tiny cellar with a few hectares of old vines, though one has since parted ways. The blend is 60% Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) and 40% Grauburgunder (Pinot Gris), briefly aged on the skins for 4 days, then 10 months on the lees in steel. No pesticides or insecticides in the vineyards.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Weiss & Grau by Enderle & Moll, but we hear it has notes of orange zest, white blossom, apricot skin, honeysuckle and a smooth mineral streak.

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.

ENDERLE & MOLL

NATURAL WINES BY ENDERLE & MOLL

Enderle & Moll started in 2007 with three barrels of wine in a garage in Münchweier, in the Black Forest foothills of Baden. Florian Moll runs it today with Manfred Enderle and French partner Maxence Lecat. Manfred, a local grower who supplied grapes for years, shares the surname but is no relation to co-founder Sven Enderle. The vines grow on steep slopes of red sandstone and shell limestone, and some Pinot Noir parcels are 60 to 70 years old.

The cellar runs on a basket press, some whole bunches, no pumping and 12 to 15 months in used barriques, some from Domaine Dujac in Burgundy. Sulphur goes in only when needed. The Pinot Noirs are pale and lively, closer to Alsace than Germany, and run from the Basis Pinot Noir up to Liaison and the single-site wines. We also stock Weiss & Grau, a white of Weissburgunder and Grauburgunder.
