Production details of Cava Gran Funambul: Cava Gran Funambul is made by Maria Barrena and Pep Tort Montserrat at Entre Vinyes in Penedès, Catalonia. The blend is 50% Xarel·lo, 25% Macabeu and 25% Parellada from an old vineyard called 'La Baixada de les Bruixes' ('The Witch's Path') in Baix Penedés, where poor soils give low yields and concentrated fruit. "Funambul" means tightrope walker, the metaphor they use for finding natural balance in winemaking. Lunar-calendar farming without synthetic chemistry.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Cava Gran Funambul by Entre Vinyes, but we hear it has notes of green apple, citrus, white flower and fine bubbles.
