Mephisto Cat

Mephisto Cat 2021 is a natural wine crafted by Perego & Perego, in the Lombardy region in Italy. This orange wine is made with Riesling grapes, plus a tiny amount of 5% Cortese, 5% Malvasia too

A previous vintage of this macerated wine is a little tannic, with notes of Lipton black tea, minerality and a slight metallic finish. We expect a similar profile to this one, but are yet to try it

Production Details: Mephisto Cat is a pet-nat style sparkling wine from Lombardy. The wine is bottled before fermentation is complete, capturing natural carbonation. This ancestral method approach preserves the freshness and primary fruit characteristics of the wine.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Mephisto Cat by Perego & Perego, but we hear it has notes of citrus, stone fruit, yeast, a slight cloudiness, and lively carbonation.
