Vulcanico Bianco 2024 is a natural wine crafted by Raspini Winery, in the Baden region in Germany. This white wine is made with Pinot Blanc grapes, grown on Volcanic soils. The Kaiserstuhl is a small, low mountain range of hills rising out of the Upper Rhine Plain that was formed by a stratovolcano roughly 16 million years ago, of which the Raspini vines are grown.

This is the Raspini Pinot Blanc, which comes with a small addition of Pinot Gris, harvested and processed together. Direct press, spontaneous fermentation, then aged in used wooden barrels on the fine lees.

We have not yet tried this wine but here it has a subtle approach, with saline aspects and crisp citrus on the finish.

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.

Raspini Wines

Raspini Winery is a small family estate run by Roberto and Sonja Raspini in the Kaiserstuhl of Baden, one of Germany’s most distinctive wine regions. Roberto was born in Sicily and studied viticulture and oenology in Sicily and Andalusia before gaining professional experience and eventually settling in Baden with Sonja. Their first vintage was released in 2021.
The estate works with just over one small hectare of vineyards, spread across sites including Eckartsberg in Breisach, Fohrenberg in Ihringen and Käsleberg in Oberrotweil. Volcanic soils are an important part of the Kaiserstuhl’s identity and provide the setting for their Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir vines.
