Bloody Muskat 2025 is a natural wine crafted by Schödl, in the Weinviertel region in Austria. This white wine is made with Roter Muskateller grapes, which is not so common at all. There are not too many natural wines made in this region of the Weinviertel, so Schödl certainly stand out
Production details of Bloody Muskat: Bloody Muskat is made by Viktoria, Mathias and Leonhard Schödl at their family winery in Loidesthal, Weinviertel, Austria. The grapes are Roter Muskateller, a pink-skinned variety that gives the wine its distinctive blush colour. The grapes are hand-harvested at the end of September and macerate on their skins for around two weeks. The wine then ages in big oak casks before bottling.
Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Bloody Muskat by Schödl, but we hear it has notes of pink grapefruit, passion fruit, peach, elderflower and a salty herbal lift.
