Velvet Underschiste by Peira Levada is a natural wine made in Languedoc with Grenache & Syrah grapes, grown on grapes around 50 years old

This one features some nice tannic structure and richness.

Production details of Velvet Underschiste: Velvet Underschiste is made by Alexandre Durand at Pèira Levada in Faugères, Languedoc. Established in 2018, his domaine is a patchwork of 12 tiny parcels totalling 4 hectares. The blend is Grenache and Syrah from 50-year-old vines on schist soils. Long 90-day maceration without extraction. Alexandre practices no-till farming with a lunar-calendar approach. No added sulphur.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Velvet Underschiste by Peira Levada, but we hear it has notes of dark plum, black cherry, blackberry, savoury green herbs and a lifted silky velvet structure.
