Welschriesling

Welschriesling is a natural wine crafted by Rennersistas, in the Burgenland region in Austria. This orange wine is made with Welschriesling grapes.

Production details of Welschriesling: Welschriesling is an orange wine made by Stefanie and Georg Renner at Rennersistas in Gols, Burgenland, Austria. The Renner family has worked here since Birgit and Helmuth took over in 1988, now spanning 12 hectares. The wine macerates for one week on the skins in amphora, then matures on the lees in barrique with some whole bunches in the ferment. No added sulphur.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Welschriesling by Rennersistas, but we hear it has notes of lemon, quince, apple, dry honey and a fine ginger lift.
