P.N 2024 is a natural wine crafted by La Sorga, in the Languedoc region in France. This red wine is made with Pinot Noir grapes from young vines.

Grown on pudding-stone (poudingue) soils in Castelreng, in the high Limoux valley, this Pinot Noir benefits from real altitude and cooler conditions that give a freshness you don't often find this far south.

The grapes are hand destemmed and macerated for 41 days, then aged on lees for 9 months in a sandstone Tava jar, with no added sulphites.

Winemaker tasting notes describe a nose of raspberry, crushed strawberry and fern, with a smoky mineral edge. The palate is described as powdery and red-fruit driven, includuding redcurrant with a touch of blood orange, and is ment to be extremely drinkable, also at 11% weight.

Drink this zero-zero wine in one sitting, as it will likely not hold over to the next day.

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.

NATURAL WINES BY LA SORGA

La Sorga is Antony Tortul, who started in 2008 as a négociant buying grapes from Languedoc growers he trusted, and has farmed some vines of his own since 2013. His parcels range from schist in Faugères and basalt in the Hérault Valley to pudding-stone high in the Limoux valley, often with Cinsault and Grenache around 70 years old. He co-founded the Brutal!!! movement and drew its famous label himself.

He works lot by lot, with hand destemming, some whole bunches and macerations of three to six weeks, then ageing in sandstone jars or tank, with no added sulphites at any stage. Yields are tiny and most cuvées run to a thousand or two bottles. Look out for Brutal Rouge, Retour de Roy from old-vine Grenache, the Picpoul orange Maître Splinter and the Aubunite red pét-nat.
