I Forestieri

“I Forestieri” translates roughly as “the outsiders” or “the strangers”, a fitting name given that both Dario and Ezequiel arrived in Tuscany’s Maremma from elsewhere.

Over the years, they have spent time learning from elderly growers and farmers in the remote hill villages of the Alta Maremma, listening to the people who have worked this landscape for generations.

Piece by piece, Dario and Ezequiel have brought together around five hectares of old vineyard plots, many of which had previously been neglected or abandoned. These small parcels are scattered through the hills at altitude, often hidden among the surrounding landscape. Restoring these old vines has become central to their work.

The vineyards sit across a striking range of soils, including combinations of galestro and schist, sand, clay and marl. Together with the elevation and age of the vines, this diversity gives each parcel its own character and has created a strong connection between the growers, the vineyards and the wines they produce.
