Gundagai 2024

Gundagai 2024 is a natural wine crafted by Aristotelis Ke Anthoula (Australia), in the Riverland region in Australia. This white wine is made with 100% Chenin Blanc grapes.

Tony Zafirakos and Maddison Park-Neilson source Chenin Blanc from Gundagai in New South Wales, Australia where the grapes grow in volcanic soil. The fruit is directly pressed and aged for seven months in old French oak barrels. Wild fermentation, with no additions at any stage. 

We first tried this wine, limited to 1300 bottles, at Karakterre wine fair in Austria earlier this year, and actually bought half a palette right there on the spot, as Australian natural wine in Europe is hard to come by and they had brought just one palette to Europe with them. We wanted half for you club members and our MNW customers as their wines were really great and the whole team were impressed!

Expect a solid, crisp Chenin with notes of white peach, apple and mild pineapple core on the palate, with hints of salt and honeysuckle nectar complemented with a bright, cutting acidity. Serve cold and if you have some oysters nearby… this would be a cool fit!
