Sang de Corb

Abrunet Blanc by Celler Frisach is made in TerraAlta with Vernatxa Negra, Vernatxa Peluda, and Carignan grapes.

Production details of Sang de Corb: Sang de Corb is made by brothers Francesc and Joan Ferré at Celler Frisach in Corbera d'Ebre, Terra Alta. The blend is red Grenache, Peluda Grenache, white Grenache and Carignan, all co-planted in a single one-hectare vineyard called 'Dellà del Riu' planted in 1945, surrounded by apple, almond and olive trees. The wine is a tribute to the family and town's ancestors who shed blood in these vineyards during clashes with Franco's troops. Grapes from the plot are harvested together and co-ferment whole, trampled by feet. The wine spends the winter in concrete, then ages a year in foudre.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Sang de Corb by Celler Frisach, but we hear it has notes of red fruit, violet, floral spice and an intense fresh structure.
