Fabio Signorelli

Fabio Signorelli is a Sicilian winemaker and oenologist from Mazara del Vallo, where his first connection to viticulture came through his grandfather's vines. He studied viticulture and oenology at the University of Palermo, then gained practical experience in wineries across Sicily, Montalcino and Umbria before arriving on Mount Etna in 2010.

On Etna, Fabio initially worked as an oenologist and vineyard consultant for established producers. This gave him years to study different contrade, build relationships with growers and observe how Nerello Mascalese changes with altitude, exposure and volcanic soil. After that period of close observation, he began releasing wines under his own name in 2016.

In 2018 he bought an old farm in Contrada Bardazzi above Linguaglossa, on Etna's northeastern side. Around three hectares surround the property, including an old vineyard, younger plantings, olive trees and woodland. He also works with small historic parcels around Castiglione di Sicilia and Randazzo. Some vines of his in Bardazzi date back to 1896 !!!
