Alter Cuvée 2021

Alter Cuvée 2021 by Sumenjak is a natural wine made in tajerska with Welschriesling grapes.

Production details of Alter Cuvée: Alter Cuvée is made by Srečko Sumenjak at his Slovenian winery in Štajerska, just above Maribor, where he farms 14 hectares using a lunar-calendar approach. The Welschriesling is given 4 to 8 days of maceration in open vats, with wild fermentation in no-temperature-control conditions. The wine then ages 18 months in old 250L and 500L oak barrels. No added sulphur.

Tasting Notes: We have not yet tried this vintage of Alter Cuvée by Sumenjak, but we hear it has notes of citrus zest, green tea, apricot, spice and a structured tannic finish.
