Côte Rôtie 2016 is a premium Northern Rhône Syrah with a touch of Viognier blended in. Straight out of the bottle it is rustic and a little closed. Give it air and the mouthfeel turns friendlier, and you get violets, blackberries, cedar and cracked black pepper with light leather and a whisper of cigar smoke. Open it an hour before you plan to drink it.
