Glow Glow Wines | Carl & Pauline Baumberger
Carl & Pauline Baumberger aka Glow Glow Wines make approachable, easy-drinking and characterful natural wine in the Nahe region in Germany. Glow Glow feature Scheurebe, Riesling, Pinot Noir (known in Germany as Spätburgunder) and other grapes, and are known to have what looks like the most fun time with people during harvest, starting with Vineyard Yoga! They also make Pet Nats which they called Fizzy Glow Glow as well as a cider.
Glow Glow Wines belong to a set of younger generation winemakers we refer to as "The New German Wave", who have generally inherited vineyards and are taking a more natural approach to winemaking than their parents would have done.

Setbacks as a female winemaker
As young producers taking over this natural element of their parents' winery, there have been ups and downs. When Pauline first started making wine, she was not accepted in the local winemaker community due to being female. This is documented in a series profiling powerful women we highly recommend watching - and of course, boy were they wrong!
Approachable wines worth the hype!
The Glow Glow wines are becoming in hot demand across Europe and requests are coming in further afield. It's fair to say that Glow Glow has swiftly become one of the most sought after new-wave of German natural producers on the scene. We adore the Spätburgunder's touch of wood influence, which many natural winemakers tend to shy away from - but for us, the little touches are just perfect. Expect to see a lot more of Glow Glow across Europe in the next few years!
