Gewürztraminer
Gewürztraminer is a highly aromatic white wine grape that is known for its intense flavors and distinctive characteristics. This grape is primarily grown in the Alsace region of France, where it thrives in the cool climate and mineral-rich soils. It is also cultivated in Germany, Austria, Italy, and the United States.
Gewürztraminer is renowned for its exotic and complex aromas, which often include notes of lychee, rose petals, and tropical fruits. Its flavors are rich and full-bodied, with a hint of sweetness that is balanced by a refreshing acidity. This grape is often made into off-dry or sweet wines, but it can also produce dry styles with a crisp finish. However, when made naturally by natural wine producers, Gewürztraminer is often made as an orange wine with skin-contact of the grape skins. This is a perfect marriage, as the tangy touches and tannins work excellent with the aromatics of the grape.
