The Unique Wines of Hubinsky
Cultivating 10 hectares of vineyards in the Little Carpathian mountains of the Bratislava region in Slovakia, the Hubinsky brothers inherited their vines from their parents in 2004 and produced their inaugural vintage in 2008.
David and his younger brother Peter have progressively aligned themselves with the natural wine movement, employing minimal sulphur and adopting a holistic approach that corresponds with the lunar cycle. Their wines are quite frankly, pretty captivating, particularly given their appealing price points.
Riesling enthusiasts should not overlook their Rizling Rynsky Hausberg, while adventurers will find their Concrete Pyramid, crafted from Grüner Veltliner which is both Oxidative and volatile, armed with Petrol notes (!) to be particularly impressive. Additionally, their Devin (a native grape to Slovakia) offers a remarkably intriguing expression that is certainly worth sampling and is quite distinctive.
