Vinyes Tortuga
Vinyes Tortuga is Dido & Jurriaan Morsink, a couple from Amsterdam who have made wine literally all over the world - including working as cellar hands for well-known natural winemakers including Escoda Sanahuja and Tom Shobbrook. Eventually they settled down in Catalonia, Spain and purchased 9.5 hectares of vineyards in Alt-Empordà, making their first vintage with their own grapes in 2018. They also have the project of Negoce wines called Fruita Analogica
Natural Wines with a charming story
Dido and Juriaan farm the vineyards holistically and chemical free, and live amongst the vines, ‘completely off the grid’ using solar panels and water from the well.In 2020 the couple expanded their operations and bought an old cooperative building from the 1960s in the medeival town of Rabós. Their mission is to find the best grapes of the region to turn into natural wine which is easily accessible for all. The building, which houses 30 old cement tanks, will also become home to a restaurant, natural wine bar, and eventually also a place to stay, making it a destination.
What is Fruita Analogica?
Fruita Analogica is the project of Vinyes Tortuga, Catalonia-based natural wine producers Dido & Jurriaan Morsink, originally from Amsterdam. Having been all around the world to make wine under some highly regarded producers (for example Escoda Sanahuja and Tom Shobbrook), the couple finally settled in Alt-Empordà, Spain. After producing their first wines under the Vinyes Tortuga label, in 2020 they purchased a 1960s collective building in Rabós, which became the home of Fruita Analogica - a winery, restaurant, and soon-to-be accommodations as well - making it a destination for natural wine lovers. Their mission is to find the best grapes of the region to make into natural wine which is easily accessible for all!
