Blanc de Blanc 2019

Blanc de Blanc 2019 is a traditonal method sparking wine crafted by Krásná Hora, in the south eastern part of Moravia in the Cyech Republic. This wine is made with 100% Chardonnay grapes.

Krasna Hora is a producer known for making more fun wines, even if not totally well known (yet!) Producing bottles in the 15 euro range, we didn’t expect too much when sampling their double-priced traditional method sparkling… but this wine is a perfect example of how winemakers can surprise you, and whilst they make make fun wines which are easy to market at the right price, they also have much more serious passion projects too.

This is one of them.

This is a sparkling made from Chardonnay which has spent FOUR YEARS resting on the lees in the bottle before disgorgement! Expect a bright, very zesty and slightly herbaceous fizz with lovely perlage and the mildest green touch with a hint of celery making it interesting and special.

Notes of lemon balm, mountain herbs, vanilla cookies and white pepper. A Czech sparkling to surprise you…
