Sanglier The Boar 2025 is a natural wine crafted by Grandbois Wines in the Mosel region in Germany. This white wine is made with 100% Bacchus grapes, a German grape also often found in the UK as suitable for the climate there. It has some history being a cross of Silvaner and Riesling.

This Bacchus spends 14 days on skins, but colour wise it is more white in style, but there is some tension and soft tannic grip on it that makes it unusual with its whiter colour.

How is Sanglier made?

Sanglier is Bacchus from Grandbois' Mosel vines, left on its skins for 14 days. That is long enough to give it grip and tension, but it still pours pale, so it drinks somewhere between a white and a light orange wine.

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.

NATURAL WINES BY GRANDBOIS WINES

Tanja and Philippe Grandbois run a small winery in Germany’s Mosel region, where they take care of 2 hectares planted with a mix of Riesling, Bacchus, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Blanc. After moving to Maring-Noviand to raise a family, they decided to settle into life on the land and make wine together.
Before diving into winemaking, Tanja was a pastry chef and worked at wineries across Germany. Philippe, on the other hand, left his corporate gig opening bars for Marriott International to gain experience at wineries in Australia, Burgundy, New Zealand, and Canada—where they eventually met.
Grandbois Wines are all about fun and freshness—perfect for sipping with friends in the park on a sunny day. Their use of new oak is a bit of a surprise in the natural wine world, but it makes their still wines, like Pinecone Pinot Blanc, super unique and approachable!
