Time to gather all your natural wine mates around for Christmas dinner and impress them with some wonderful bottles. What do you bring? How about these five fantastic wines:

Christian Tschida - Brutal 2023

This Brutal wine by Christian Tschida is 100% Pinot Noir, and from the previous vintages you would never guess that!  this new new 2023 is bursting full of wet earth & leaves and  it feels like you're drinking a forest, even more so with the mushroom and blackberry boosters thrown in! F*cking beautiful!

Roca Viva - Pneuma 2021

Pneuma 2021 is a rare natural wine crafted by Roca Viva, in the Andalusia region in Spain. This white wine with an amber colour is made with Jaén Blanco and Vigiriega grapes. Only 645 bottles produced. No added sulphites.

Amazing and super interesting wine. A tiny bit of Residual Sugar and a little refermentation fizz. Complex, structured, unique and VERY special. Whilst there is some R.S, it is not sweet and instead beautiful notes of caramel, walnut baked apricot and salt shine through. Truly a beautiful wine. Carafe for best results

Timo Mayer - Close Planted Pinot Noir

This 'Close Planted' Pinot Noir wine from Timo Mayer tastes amazing! So precise, so Burgundian, so concentrated in it’s cherry liquorice aromas. This an insanely fine wine, we adore it!

From AustralianWine.com> A self-proclaimed German farmer with a warm smile and eccentric mind, Timo left the traditional wine region where he was born and raised for Australia’s Yarra Valley.

Over the past couple of decades he’s helped lead the charge for elegant, interesting, complex wines that reflect the Yarra Valley’s cool climate, influencing a generation of young winemakers. These days he’s still pushing boundaries, experimenting with new varieties and throwing convention to the wind.

His is most known for his pinot noirs, and this one is made with closely planted vines, as the name suggests. It seems here the vines are 75cm apart from each other, which is rather unusual for Australia... but actually quite common in Europe.

Whole bunch fermentation, as he is known for.

Patrick Bouju - Lulu (Amphora) 2022

Lulu is a special natural wine crafted by Patrick Bouju, in the Auvergne region in France. This red wine is made with Gamay grapes (actually more specifically Gamay d'Auvergne), which unlike most of the Bouju range is taken from their own domain fruit. These are old vines, 80 year olds grown on basalt soil. Vinified with semi-carbonique maceration in amphora and aged in oak barrel.

Tastewise, this awesome red features excellent minerality that is very prominent from the volcanic soils it is grown on, alongside black cherry hits and some delightful spice. An absolute WINNER!

Marto Wines - Riesling Reserve 2022

Riesling RESERVE 2022 is a natural wine crafted by Marto Wines, in the Rheinhessen region in Germany. This white wine is made with Riesling grapes grown on steep limestone soils, was actually originally harvested for the purposes of Sekt so around 11,5% abv, but Martin Wörner and his partner Alanna Lagamba  loved it oh so very much they decided to leave it 2 years in barrel just to see how it evolved.

This wine is EXCEPTIONAL, and has a super long finish that just keeps on giving! We suggest to decant it, and you will be rewarded with wild herbaceous notes like tarragon, perhaps some soft mint too.

Vibrant minerality and great, balanced acidity going on here mingling between somewhat lively and engaging bitter notes. Yet, it's almost savoury too, as well as a little bit salty, and the fruit touches give off hints of unripe apricot, quince.

This is for us, a 10/10 wine that will really impress with a carafe to breathe. One of the best German natural wines we know.

Please note, our fancy new cart system will only recognise this as one product, but it will qualify for 5 bottles towards your shipping, at official checkout.

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.
