Blaufränkisch is a red wine grape that is primarily grown in Central Europe, particularly in Austria, Hungary, and Slovakia, where it is known as Kékfrankos and Frankovra respectively. This grape is known for producing fruity wines with intense flavors and a deep, dark color.

Blaufränkisch is often described as having a medium to full body, with high acidity and moderate tannins. It is known for its complex aromas, which can include notes of blackberries, cherries, and spices. The wines made from Blaufränkisch grapes are typically dry and have a long, lingering finish.

In Austria, Blaufränkisch is one of the most important red grape varieties, particularly in the Burgenland region. It is often used to produce single-varietal wines, as well as blended with other grape varieties such as Zweigelt and St. Laurent.
