This vintage is awesome!

From a side-project to full time winemaker

The son of a Bavarian winemaker (who is actually is on the control board of the local wine appellation to ensure quality remains high), Michael returned to Germany with his wife Melanie to take over his vineyard and begin making natural wines together. They did this first as a small side project for the winery, but are now more committed and using the majority of the whole vineyard, producing an annual 40,000 bottles a year through their 6 hectare plot. They use bat manure to fertilise their vineyards.

Best wines from 2naturkinder

2naturkinder produce two types of wine: Their ‘2Naturkinder’ range with no added sulphur and a less raw, ‘Vater & Sohn’ range, which uses purchased grapes from other vineyards and are made slightly filtered, alongside a light sulphur addition. This range is in honour of the traditional wines Michael Voelker’s father used to make before the 2Naturkinder style came about.
