Franz Weninger Wine

Whilst not always natural wine, the Weningers have been making wines since 1828, and Franz Weninger’s family was one of the few allowed to purchase some parcels in Hungary’s Sopron region, which is deemed to be the birthplace of Blaufränkisch (also known locally as Kékfrankos).

There are many expressions of Blaufränkisch wines in Franz Weninger’s portfolio, as he has so many different sites expressing such different terroir featuring soils of slate, chalk, limestone and more.

What's interesting with Franz Weninger is to compare the same grapes from different plots, as he has so many and from both Hungary and Austria
