Aloxe Corton 2018 is a natural wine crafted by Pierre Fenals of Maison en Belles Lies, in the Burgundy region in France. This red wine is made with 100% Pinot Noir grapes, as is standard in Burgundy.

Maison en Belles Lies is based in the Saint Aubin appellation, at the lower edge of the Côte de Beaune. Interestingly, the domain was founded by a native of Algeria, Pierre Fenals, who decided after a a career in pharmaceutical laboratories on the outskirts of Paris to pursue his love of wine and swap roles at the age of 52, studying winemaking in Beaune.

He started small and now farms around 7 hectares with a holistic approach, using herbal teas and following the lunar calendar, and his wines with no or minimal sulphites have become highly sought after in the natural wine world.

Grapes grown at Maison en Belles Lies are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Gamay, and Aligoté. These wines are in hot demand, and like most Burgundy wines tend to go up in price each year..

The wine Aloxe Corton 2018 is taken from 50-year-old vines, from Massale Selection, on tiny Limestone plot called  "Les Caillettes". This wine is aged for 18 months in old oak barrels and bottled without any addition of sulphites.
