Wow!
This 'Close Planted' Pinot Noir wine from Timo Mayer tastes amazing! So precise, so Burgundian, so concentrated in it’s cherry liquorice aromas. This an insanely fine wine, we adore it!

From AustralianWine.com> A self-proclaimed German farmer with a warm smile and eccentric mind, Timo left the traditional wine region where he was born and raised for Australia’s Yarra Valley.
Over the past couple of decades he’s helped lead the charge for elegant, interesting, complex wines that reflect the Yarra Valley’s cool climate, influencing a generation of young winemakers. These days he’s still pushing boundaries, experimenting with new varieties and throwing convention to the wind.
His is most known for his pinot noirs, and this one is made with closely planted vines, as the name suggests. It seems here the vines are 75cm apart from each other, which is rather unusual for Australia... but actually quite common in Europe.
Whole bunch fermentation, as he is known for.
