Rosso by Grape Republic is a natural wine made in Yamagata with Steuben, Delaware and Yama sauvignon grapes.
MORE tasting notes:
Notes of red apple, plum and white pepper. Delicious, yet not as unique as the other two Grape Republic wines.
--------------------------------------------------
Established in 2017, Grape Republic have quickly become one of the biggest names on Japan’s natural wine scene.
This is a blend of green, blue and pink varieties: Delaware and Steuben that have seen a week each of skin maceration, direct-pressed Steuben and Neo Muscat fermented in amphorae, as well some Yama Sauvignon, which is a Japanese hybrid of classic Cab and native yamabudo, “mountain grapes”.
This wine is as much white or orange as it is red, with pure grapey flavours, exotic fruits, some earthiness and an elegant spicy finish.
No sulphites added.
