Alexandre Jouveaux crafts sought-after Mâconnais wines in Burgundy, which are ideal for collectors and those who love to cellar wines for aging. We have heard these ones are still a little fragile and could use some time to become more stable.
From fashion photographer to vigneron with a following
Alexandre Jouveaux was a fashion photographer in Paris before leaving in 1995 to pursue winemaking. Straight from the beginning, Alexandre cultivated his small vineyard in Burgundy organically, not filtering or fining and adding very small amounts of sulfur, if any at all. Alexandre produces just 6,000 bottles a year, but has made many loyal followers including fellow winemakers. The wines themselves are often reductive, yet full of energy - and could use some ageing before reaching full potential.
