Kestrel Riesling is a natural, bone dry Riesling wine crafted by Grandbois Wines, in the Mosel region in Germany.

Here, Riesling grapes are grown on Slate soils giving nice elements of minerality to the wine. To give some complexity, 15-20% of the grapes were late harvested, with 'Noble Rot' botrytis coming into play.

The Kestrel is on the label thanks to the bird often seen around the vineyards here.

We ship every Wednesday. Order by Tuesday 10am.

NATURAL WINES BY GRANDBOIS WINES

Tanja and Philippe Grandbois run a small winery in Germany’s Mosel region, where they take care of 2 hectares planted with a mix of Riesling, Bacchus, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Blanc. After moving to Maring-Noviand to raise a family, they decided to settle into life on the land and make wine together.
Before diving into winemaking, Tanja was a pastry chef and worked at wineries across Germany. Philippe, on the other hand, left his corporate gig opening bars for Marriott International to gain experience at wineries in Australia, Burgundy, New Zealand, and Canada—where they eventually met.
Grandbois Wines are all about fun and freshness—perfect for sipping with friends in the park on a sunny day. Their use of new oak is a bit of a surprise in the natural wine world, but it makes their still wines, like Pinecone Pinot Blanc, super unique and approachable!
