Falanghina
Falanghina is a white wine grape that is primarily grown in the Campania region of Italy.
This grape is known for producing wines with a vibrant and refreshing character. It typically yields wines with a pale straw color and a bouquet of tropical fruits, citrus, and floral notes. On the palate, Falanghina wines are often described as crisp and lively, with flavors of green apple, pear, and a hint of minerality.
The areas of Benevento and Avellino in Campania specifically are producing some of the finest examples of Falanghina wines. The volcanic soils and Mediterranean climate of this region contribute to the unique flavor profile of the grape. It pairs well with seafood, light pasta dishes, and fresh cheeses.
In the natural wine world, producers like Gismondi and Vigneti Tardis showcase excellent examples of the grapes finesse.
