Frappato
Frappato is a red wine grape that is primarily grown in the region of Sicily, in particular in the Vittoria region.
Frappato is known for producing light-bodied and aromatic wines with vibrant acidity. The grape itself has thin skins, which contribute to its delicate and elegant flavors. It is often blended with other grape varieties, such as Nero d'Avola, to add complexity and depth to the final wine.
The wines made from Frappato are typically characterized by their bright red fruit flavors, such as cherry and raspberry, as well as floral notes of violet and rose. They have a refreshing and lively character, making them perfect for enjoying on a warm summer day.
Natural wine producers like COS and Arianna Occhipinti make the most exciting Frappato wines we know, and we really love those wines, which we feel are full of cherry, ash, violets and some smoke.
