Austernkalk 2022 is an orange natural wine crafted by Max sein Wein, in the Baden region in Germany. This white wine is made with a nice blend of both red and white grapes: Pinot Gris, Silvaner, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes.

We hear this orange wine is less about the fruit and more about the rest, with notes of thyme, sage and a slight mineralic, salty aspect. Ideal for oysters as the name suggests.

Winemaker Max Baumann trained with Gut Oggau and Judith Beck, and is known to leave his wines with long elevage in old barrels and let rest in the bottle before releasing to the public.
